Mt. Ama Dablam is known as the “Matterhorn of the Himalaya” and is recognized as the most beautiful mountain in the world. It is situated in the eastern Himalayan range of Nepal and portrays a unique pyramid shape. The hanging glacier in the southwest got its name as Mt. Ama Dablam because of its resemblance of a 'Dablam' meaning the sacred ornament box worn by Sherpa ladies. Situated in the heart of Khumbu this expedition offers a spectacular close up view of the Mt Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu and Mt. Everest. This expedition is known to create a lasting impression and a challenge on many trekkers in Nepal with its steep vertical walls and sharp ice, exposed ridges, and incredible views of the mountains. The ascent starts from the South-western ridge and goes up to three camps. It is said that climbers for this expedition require good skills on rock and ice climbing and need to be technically competent. Due to the narrow edges of ridges, the challenges in this expedition increases as you pass through Camp 2 and Camp 3.
